Set Meaningful Goals

We're in a New Year a new decade! Life as we know it goes by faster as we age and with a fresh start comes new beginning's. It can be tough to commit to doing something we say we will or following a new way of thinking. Personally I found myself changing my diet for the better, practicing more self care, and less spending more conscious purchases in 2019. Here are some idea's to consider implementing it's all about making changes gradually

1) Live a more eco conscious lifestyle and reduce your footprint and make it a place worth living ! As a consumer driven society avoid decision fatigue by trying a more minimalist mindset say yes less to the pressure to spend. Greener habits make us more compassionate being's world calamities are only getting worse and were to blame so it's a wake up call to do what we can for the planet and treat animals with more care. Eat more plant based, use canvas bag instead of plastic, a reusable cup at the coffee shop, go to the farmer's market, borrow instead of buying there's no Planet B

2) Prioritize your mental health for the better ! stress has a bad affect on our health by learning to say no to negative habits and focus more on being your best so you can be for those around you. Put away your phone and let go of over excelling as we're all insecure or struggling with issues and give space to decompress. Making time for self care by going on a retreat or taking a bubble bath and putting on a mask those me moments help us recharge and reset to take on anything it's okay to be selfish when it's urgent

3) Put away the electronic devices be more present and engaging ! read a book, going for a hike outdoors, nurture a hobby or a new skill, or try something nostalgic like play a board game with family. Have a real conversation rather then texting or phone calls meet up with people in person even if it's over coffee or brunch face to face is always more rewarding and time isn't infinite to show others you care

4) Focus on bettering yourself as a person with character ! for what you have to offer quality to inspire others over stop over extending yourself to being x, y or z as in choose 3 objectives when it comes to professional or yourself. When it comes to appearance stop obsessing on superficial things like over excessive amount of appointments, products, or procedures that serve no purpose strive for clean skincare or a well rested massage to benefit your well being

5) Less eating out more cooking from scratch! yes it's impulsive and easier to order food but overtime it has got more expensive and making your own meals is ideal to make healthier choices. Sure it's a rewarding treat now and then and fast food is always there but it has no nutritional value. Not only does it feel good to eat a well balanced meal but in relation to fitness do it to reduce stress in your day as a form of therapy and try a new class to stay motivated if you feel your loosing interest

6) Don't put value in materialistic things and shop for ethnically for environment! Stop giving fast fashion your money support locals and strive for well made clothes that have longevity and are versatile. Support small businesses which i'm doing this year by going to an ethnic grocery rather then the regular supermarket as it cuts waste. I save money and shop with companies that give back to charity and have a purposeful message behind their brand with attention to organic cotton and bamboo rayon

7) Give more attention to area's of your life that are lacking! 7) travel, personal time, giving back, social, etc finding balance is key to avoid burnout and a midlife crisis or fall into depression and anxiety tendencies. Meet your expectations by fueling what your passionate about to better your self esteem and confidence with experiences that fulfill you. Thrive with success without fear, comfort, or laziness as excuses and setbacks to keep you being your best it's all in the company you keep the attitude you have

8) Journal more post less! Were so obsessed with sharing every intimate detail of our lives or taking endless selfies and personal photo's. The problem is you loose yourself to an exhausting drive for attention and shouldn't seek others validation. Sometimes it's best to get away from social media as it can make use feel worse with fabricated versions of ourselves or comparing to others. Make notes of what your proud of when it comes to accomplishments take the morning and night to reflect on how you feel as well as your thoughts writing is a craft that shouldn't be neglected

9) Be bold and do something to come out of your comfort zone! Too often we loose ourselves in everyday routines and numerous responsibilities that we forget to have fun and be spontaneous. It's good to stray from reality once in a awhile to go on an adventure even if you don't have the luxury for a vacation a road trip or weekend trip for instance is a worthy substitution. Maybe you want to take a dance class, start a podcast, or go axe throwing step out and do something totally new.
